About Us
We are looking for a Vendor Manager to manage our infrastructure and data vendors to on ensure our vendors perform as required in a timely manner.
As part of a small, lean, highly specialized team of quants, this role requires a tenacious and active approach to managing our infrastructure providers, data vendors and other key relationships.
The person we’re looking for has significant experience with vendor management. It’s a plus if you have experience in the quant hedge fund industry with the data and infrastructure vendors and understands the tight timelines in the quant trading industry.
The right fit is a person who can ‘push back’ and hold our vendors and prime brokers accountable to perform, as well as being able to escalate to the vendor’s senior business people.
Location: Vancouver, BC (1055 West Georgia, RBC building)
Work Arrangement: in-office, hybrid or remote (if located on the east coast of Canada or the US)
Position Type: Permanent, Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
· Own and manage vendor relationships across data, live market data, infrastructure, managed services and prime broker operations teams such as execution and clearing.
· Act as the primary point of contact for performance monitoring including working closely with the quant and tech teams to ensure vendors provide data and infrastructure services with minimal latency, errors, or downtime.
· Actively escalate with the vendor’s business people and senior management as required to ensure the vendor’s performance.
· Maintain visibility into contract and support renewals and license compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Experience: 10+ years in vendor management.
· Autonomous & Hands-On: Ability to operate independently within a lean team, wearing multiple hats when needed.
· Problem-Solving: Quick decision-making and troubleshooting skills to resolve vendor-related issues that impact trading operations.
· Industry Knowledge is Preferred: Understanding of market data vendors, execution platforms, cloud computing, and trading infrastructure.
· Technical Awareness is Preferred: Understanding of quant fund or systematic trading environments and low-latency infrastructure and connectivity platforms.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology, business administration, or a related field.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
