SEMH Teacher - Make a Difference Every Day Location: Merton Start Date: October Half Term Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Salary: For teachers who hold QTS: £194.21 - £258.84. For Unqualified Teachers: £115.91 - £160 (depending on experience) Via Parker Smith Inclusion
Are you passionate about transforming the lives of young people? Do you have the resilience, compassion, and creativity to work in a specialist SEMH setting?
At Parker Smith Inclusion, we’re looking for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a specialist setting supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Whether you're a qualified teacher or an unqualified educator with experience in SEND, youth work, or alternative provisions then we want to hear from you.
The Role: Deliver lessons across the curriculum with a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach
Support students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs, some of whom may have additional diagnoses such as ADHD, ASD, or PTSD
Create a calm, engaging, and supportive learning environment
Work closely with support staff, therapists, and external agencies to meet individual student needs
Contribute to a nurturing school culture where every young person is seen, heard, and supported You Might Be: A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS), or…
Unqualified but with relevant experience e.g., youth worker, HLTA, learning mentor, or support worker
Someone with a genuine passion for inclusion and mental health
Experienced in working with vulnerable or challenging young people, ideally in a school or care setting
