Jacobs is currently looking to hire an Assistant Environmental Project Manager to join our dynamic team in a full-time role based either out of Burnaby BC or Calgary AB. In this position you will support government and privately-owned infrastructure projects in all life stages of the projects from the early development stages all the way to post-construction environmental monitoring and operations. You will provide support to our environmental planning and permitting teams. The base salary range for this position is $58,900.00 to $89,100.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Working with our strong technical team, you will support meeting internal and external client objectives and project-specific internal financial goals.
- Budget tracking, invoicing, financial reporting and forecasting, schedule coordination, task management, and delivery on environmental projects within western Canada.
- Assist in managing change orders and cost impacts, maintaining clear documentation and communication with project teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, invoices, schedules, and change logs, ensuring compliance with internal and client standards.
- Prepare and deliver monthly reports on project performance, including budget status, cash flow projections, risk assessments, and progress of deliverables.
- Collaborate with other team members and support Business Development and proposal efforts including costing.
- Develop staff through on-the-job mentorship.
- Be a Safety Leader for the project and promote Jacobs Beyond Zero and our culture of caring.
- Degree in Environmental Planning, Biophysical Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant planner or project support experience in the natural resources sector in Canada, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Strong understanding of cost tracking, forecasting, and invoicing.
- Time management skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks and projects and meet project deadlines.
- Great communication skills both written and verbal and willingness to be client facing to grow our planning and permitting services.
- High level of initiative and problem solving and adaptability.
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding and consideration for safety.
- Experience seeing major projects from planning through construction.
- Familiarity with field operations and how they impact cost and schedule.
- Financial literacy and understanding of managing budgets and schedules.
- The ability to inspire, mentor, motivate, and build respect among colleagues, fostering a cohesive work environment.
