SickKids Information Management and Technology - Project Management Office (IMT-PMO) is seeking a highly motivated project management professional with expertise delivering complex IT programs and projects. In this role, you may lead a variety of business and technology initiatives, including procurement and implementation of system integration projects and SaaS solutions.

To be successful in this role you will need to have an expert understanding and ability to leverage the formal project management process (PMI - Traditional and Agile) and establish close working relationships within the relevant business area(s) to your assigned projects. The successful candidate will lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and internal departments, to ensure our technology solutions meet the needs of our organization and support our strategic goals.

Here's What You'll Get To Do

  • Support program management and roadmap management activities, such as:
    • Developing program standards and governance structures
    • Sequencing of interdependent projects that are part of a program
    • Completing resource planning within a program
    • Monitoring and controlling project streams to ensure alignment with overarching business goals and objectives
    • Identifying program level risks and supporting mitigation or corrective actions
    • Ensuring collaboration among project streams
    • Supporting program change management and communications
    • Measuring and monitoring success metrics and return on investment
  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned projects to ensure successful and timely completion of desired outcomes, including initiation / inception, procurement (RFI, RFQ, RFP), contracting (SOW development), delivery, and implementation phases.
  • Lead the design and development of project plans and deliverables, such as:
    • Project charters, requirements, delivery plans, risk and issue logs, budgets, and reports
    • Statements of Work (SOWs)
    • Roadmaps and schedules
    • Organizational change management and communications plans
    • Training plans and materials
    • Deployment plans
    • Transition to operations plans
  • Lead cross-functional delivery teams comprised of analysts, developers, coordinators, and managers, as well as business representatives and other technical resources (IT and vendors) to support and enable delivery.
  • Ensure that all steps from requirement analysis through to product selection, implementation, testing, and production are carried out in an optimal way to ensure successful and timely completion of projects.
  • Facilitate a variety of meetings (working groups, advisory committees, stakeholder meetings, steering committees, workshops, and training sessions, etc.), by preparing content and ensuring actions, decisions, risks and issues are appropriately documented.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Essential Requirements

Here's What You'll Need

  • 10 years working experience; 5 years of which must be as a Project Manager in a technical / IT environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a Program Management or Digital Transformation leader role
  • Project Management Certification (PMP).
  • Experience managing project budgets of $1 million or greater; including tracking and monitoring project financials.
  • Experience on complex IT initiatives, system integration projects, custom software development, and implementing vendor-supplied systems.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading technology projects from concept to launch.
  • Experience leading the procurement of new technology solutions and services.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and delivery work statements (SOWs).
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative and consensus driven environment.
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Ability to draw upon negotiation skills and conflict resolution strategies to work with multiple stakeholders, internal teams, and vendors to obtain buy-in and support to ensure the success of projects.
  • Can perform complex analysis and implement remedies that meet the needs of challenging situations.
  • Exceptional presentation, facilitation, and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to convert complex technical information to plain language.
  • Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.

You Should Highlight If You Have

  • Experience leading or supporting public sector technology procurements.
  • Experience in an academic research, post-secondary, and/or life sciences setting.
  • Business Analysis, Agile, or Organizational Change Management education or certification(s).
  • Familiarity with product management and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ITIL change management and IT Service Desk (ITSM) best practices.
