Purpose


The Manager, Space Planning and Strategy plays a key role within the Global Premises & Workplace Strategy team, contributing to the success of Global Real Estate & Corporate Services by managing enterprise-wide space utilization systems and supporting strategic premises initiatives
This role is responsible for maintaining building utilization data, stacking plans, and distributing weekly space utilization dashboards. The incumbent supports the Senior Program Manager in developing business cases and cost memos for office premises initiatives, ensuring all activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champion a customer-first mindset by fostering strong relationships across the Bank and leveraging enterprise-wide systems and insights to support workplace strategy.
  • Own space utilization reporting for Canadian office premises, including maintaining stacking plans, analyzing building-level data, and distributing weekly dashboards. You’ll collaborate closely with HR and Strategic Analysis teams to ensure data accuracy and support ad-hoc reporting needs.
  • Manage the OfficeSpace platform, acting as the primary contact for system issues and user support. You’ll oversee data integrity, layout updates, and provide onboarding, training, and ongoing assistance to over 700 floor coordinators and administrators.
  • Support strategic initiatives by drafting business cases, cost memos, and information packages for premises projects. You’ll work from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with RECS goals, financial requirements, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain financial and occupancy data, including updates to the Corporate Office Stack Report used for rent allocation. You’ll partner with Workplace Strategy and EO Finance to optimize occupancy and ensure accurate forecasting in business cases.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects, including pilot programs, onboarding activities, and small-scale initiatives. You’ll provide coordination, documentation, and leadership support as needed.
  • Embed risk awareness into daily decisions by aligning with the Bank’s risk appetite and culture. You’ll help ensure compliance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and regulatory obligations across operational, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk areas.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:



  • University degree, preferably in IT, Finance, or Economics.
  • Strong understanding of real estate terminology and lease documentation.
  • Familiarity with the Bank’s organizational structure and operating environment is an asset. As well as, compliance systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Managerial experience in a multi-functional environment.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across all levels.
  • Experience in strategic or business analysis, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; exposure to SQL, Python/R, Tableau, Power BI, and database systems.

Work Arrangement:
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Travel may be required on an exception basis
