What You Will Do
- Work as a trusted partner in employee relations; be a subject matter expert in company policies, investigate workplace concerns and handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and care.
- Coordinate our accommodation and return to work process; collaborate with stakeholders to develop accommodation plans that meet our legal obligations and provide employees with an inclusive and support work environment.
- Drive performance management activities; work with our leaders to foster employee coaching and development through our recurring performance appraisal program.
- Support the recruitment activities for our organization; work with hiring managers to develop job descriptions & postings, drive engagement through our internal hiring process, and support the onboarding of new hires to our team.
- Create training and development initiatives to support learning and growth; build and administer programs to support both employees and leaders in various workplace topics
- Drive engagement across Southmedic through the Gallup program; leverage our current program to measure engagement and support leaders in executing action
- Extensive knowledge in employment law. Understanding our legal obligations to ensure we always do the right thing.
- Familiarity with talent management principles; developing effective job descriptions & job postings, building performance review process flow, and effective performance management.
- Comfortable in high-stress situations; being an active and supportive presence during workplace investigations, disciplinary or termination meetings, and general interactions.
- Experience with executing and promoting corporate culture programs; fostering engagement with both employees and leaders to create value.
- Passion for education; drive to educate those around you to increase knowledge and awareness.
- Strong technical proficiency with computer applications (Powerpoint, Excel and HRIS systems).
- Formalized HR background; post-secondary education related to Human Resources within Human Resources, in addition to an HRPA designation or in the process of obtaining a designation
