Medicine Hat College invites applications for the full-time, regular Manager of Hospitality & Conference Services.

A little about the role:

Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Finance, the Manager, Hospitality & Conference Services is responsible for providing leadership and management of food services and events for the institution. This includes developing and managing an annual business plan, as well as leading, supporting and actively participating in the delivery of customer service, marketing, effective sales, food safety standards, and related policies, and procedures. This position works to ensure Medicine Hat College is recognized as an attractive community partner, as well as a unique, and inspiring environment to host events. The successful candidate will work collaboratively and build positive relationships with internal and external clients to plan and organize events, food services, and catering operations on campus.

Details:

As a successful applicant you'll have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Commerce or a related discipline
• 2 years related work experience in kitchen operations and management of food services or event/conference coordination
• Knowledge and experience in the hospitality industry, policy and budget administration, purchasing processes, pricing product, inventory and stock management and control
• Supervisory experience within a unionized environment preferred
• Knowledge and/or certification in Food Sanitation & Food Safety Standards/Regulations
• Skilled at building and maintaining trusting and dependable relationships to develop and maintain reputable services
• Excellent communication, time management and team building skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends is required
• An equivalent combination of related post-secondary education and relevant work experience may be considered

Salary Range: $73,466 - $85,936
