About The Role
The Analyst, Responsible Investing will collaborate closely with the Director of Responsible Investing and the broader Investment Team to advance and refine the Plan’s Responsible Investing (RI) initiatives.
This role supports the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into investment decision-making across the Plan. The Analyst will contribute to research on individual portfolio companies and broader sustainability themes. Additionally, the Analyst will assist with stewardship activities, including proxy voting and corporate engagement

About The Role

As The Newest Member Of The Team, You’ll
- Conduct comprehensive research, review, analysis, and monitoring of relevant company and sector-specific ESG issues to support various Plan activities.
- Assist in preparing research documents, presentations, and briefing notes, and present them to the investment team and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and consider responsible investing and sustainable finance issues, developments, and trends.
- Assist with integrating ESG factors and sustainability-related investment themes across CAAT’s RI policies and investment activities.
- Support the investment team in monitoring and engaging with external fund managers to ensure alignment with the Plan's RI policies.
- Use best practice tools, analytics, and research to engage with managers on material ESG issues and climate-related risks.
- Develop and maintain tools to ensure ESG considerations are integrated into the Plan’s private market investments.
- Assist in corporate engagement activities, proxy voting, and other ESG initiatives, both directly and through collaborations with other investors.
- Collaborate on new investment ideas, ensuring they align with RI principles, and work with legal, risk, and other advisors for due diligence and implementation.
- Provide project management support and leverage data analytics to inform decision-making, ensuring investments align with RI policies and contributing to periodic PRI reporting
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in an investment management or investment advisory organization or consulting / professional services firm
- Relevant university degree complemented by research/industry experience
- Significant work or academic experience related to ESG matters, or otherwise clearly demonstrated interest in sustainability
- Basic knowledge of portfolio management and investment concepts such as that acquired through completion of CFA Level 1 or more
- Good knowledge of current ESG risks and opportunities for public and private companies
- Ability to use both quantitative analysis and the assessment of qualitative factors to support a view on multi-faceted ESG matters
