About SkyAlyne
SkyAlyne is a team of defence, training, simulation, and aviation industry experts assembled from across Canada, working to prepare the next generation of RCAF Pilots and Aircrew as the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program provider for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF)
SkyAlyne was formed in 2018 as a partnership between CAE and KF Aerospace, two Canadian aviation, training, and defence leaders. The partnership was built to jointly answer the call for the Government of Canada’s FAcT program. In 2023 SkyAlyne was named the preferred bidder, and in 2024, was officially contracted to partner with the RCAF and deliver the FAcT program. We are now building a new team to deliver the FAcT program
The scope of the FAcT program includes all training and in-service support requirements needed to prepare Pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers, and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators to meet the future aerospace requirements of the RCAF. The FAcT program is overseen from a Joint Management Office at SkyAlyne’s Ottawa headquarters in Kanata, with three operational bases: Moose Jaw, SK, Southport, MB, and Winnipeg, MB
In collaboration with the Government of Canada and several major Canadian subcontractors, Team SkyAlyne will provide live-flying, simulator and classroom-based training, facilities construction and management, information management and information technology support, site support services, aircraft maintenance and much more

Job Overview
The Project Controller will be a critical part of the successful delivery of the FAcT Program by ensuring effective coordination, planning and control of project activities. This role will collaborate closely with internal teams such as Work Pack Leads, and the Project Management Office (PMO) as well as external stakeholders including our strategic subcontractors. This role supports project execution by conducting project analysis and monitoring to ensure alignment in progress and performance, project financials and schedule, reporting milestones and data deliverables. This position also supports integration projects from inception to deployment, facilitatating communication across stakeholders, and contributing to continuous project improvement. Additionally, the Project Controller will support FAcT risk management activities within the PMO
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Execute the control processes implemented by the PMO.
  • Work closely with the PMO, Work Pack Leads, Engineers, and project planners to organize, and facilitate the execution and delivery of project milestones.
  • Provide support to Work Pack Leads in regard to scheduling, on an ongoing basis.
  • Support all integration activities throughout the deployment of the FAcT program.
  • Review project deliverable status and communicate critical paths to relevant stakeholders, ensuring project adheres to agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct risk analysis, monitor mitigation plans, and support risk reporting within the PMO to ensure alignment with project milestones and budgets.
  • Utilize project management and financial tools to assist the PMO with project estimates, reviews, change controls, scope changes and costing
  • Develop and maintain detailed work plans, including schedules, milestones, CDRLs, resource allocation, and essential project documents.
  • Identify and mitigate blockers and bottlenecks throughout project life cycle.
  • Track and report on project statuses, risks, blockers, and milestones to the PMO and all other relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform post-implementation project audits to measure project success and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor project deliverables to ensure compliance with PMO quality standards and FAcT contractual requirements.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or a post-secondary diploma in engineering preferred. Will consider business, finance or a related field;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and project lifecycle.
  • Relevant certification in Earned Value Management System or Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing projects and project deployments, with a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes.
  • Familiarity with federal aviation industry regulations, standards, and practices.
  • Proficiency in Project Management tools.
  • Be able to communicate with both internal teams and external partners, ensuring clarity and alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Suite, including Oracle Primavera Cloud, EBS R12 and Unifier would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically in MS Project would be an asset.
  • Be able to hold a Government of Canada Security Clearance (Secret level) and Controlled Goods Clearance.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Strong oral and written English language capabilities.
  • Fluency in French would be an asset.
