The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following remote delivery via zoom course during the Winter 2026 semester:
SW 411 – Abuse and Violence
This course examines abuse and violence primarily within familial relationships, but will also include discussion on various forms of trauma in a broader context. Individual, familial, institutional and societal responses to abuse and violence will be explored. A victim centered, trauma-informed social work perspective will be emphasized. Note: Recommend that students have completed one or more of SW 346, SW 390, SW 407, SW 414 or SW 437.
The semester class period is from January 6, 2026 – April 13, 2026, with the final exam period running from April 16, 2026 – April 29, 2026.
Sessional Lecturers that are teaching remote classes are expected to teach 13 synchronous classes throughout the semester.
Expectations for Sessional Lecturers include, but aren’t limited to, the following:

- Preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades by the required deadline.
- Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines.
- Delivering 13 lectures throughout the semester.
- Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment.
- Providing regular support to students on course work during office hours, and as required by students.
- Consulting with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student- related matters as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Social Work | University of Regina (uregina.ca) Position Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Master of Social Work (MSW)
- Demonstrated related experience appropriate to the course content description as listed above;
- Superior communications skills (both written and verbal);
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Recent teaching experience in a post-secondary environment is considered an asset.
