The Divisional VP, Marketing & PR (12–13-month contract) will oversee all day-to-day marketing initiatives, including brand strategy, advertising, content (social, web, email influencer/creator), PR & events, digital marketing, and customer engagement. They will be responsible for creating & executing marketing plans that align with Holt Renfrew’s and our stakeholders’ overall business objectives, ensuring that our brand and the brands of our vendors are consistently and synergistically represented across all channels and consumer touchpoints.
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
The Divisional VP, Marketing & PR (12–13-month contract) will oversee all day-to-day marketing initiatives, including brand strategy, advertising, content (social, web, email influencer/creator), PR & events, digital marketing, and customer engagement. They will be responsible for creating & executing marketing plans that align with Holt Renfrew’s and our stakeholders’ overall business objectives, ensuring that our brand and the brands of our vendors are consistently and synergistically represented across all channels and consumer touchpoints.
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Set specific long-, mid- and short-term marketing strategies and goals for the company
- Design marketing strategies aligned with business targets
- Guide cross-functional marketing teams by defining tactics and strategies to meet marketing needs and achieve overall goals
- Collaborate with vendors to create relevant and cohesive tactical marketing initiatives
- Source and identify strategic third-party partners
- Forecast market trends and translate consumer and market insights into actionable strategies that identify new opportunities, fuel growth, loyalty, and differentiation
- Continuously generate innovative ideas and pilot emerging platforms to promote the brand and remain culturally relevant Develop cohesive and consistent advertising strategies including traditional and digital media buy
- Liaise with internal teams to implement and execute strategies across channels, driving resonance, shareability, and brand consistency Traditional public relations Collaborate with brand strategy team to create annual donation program with charitable organizations
- Lead marketing driven event strategy and planning (special events, store eventing (non-vendor), pop ups (nonvendor)
- Ensure brand consistency across omni-channel retail, bridging physical experiences, events, and digital discovery to drive traffic and conversion
- Leverage data, personalization, and AI-driven insights (CDP, predictive modeling) to optimize customer journeys and marketing efficiency
- Champion content designed for shareability, virality, and cultural participation
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field, MBA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in marketing with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Experience in luxury or apparel/ fashion retail or a related industry
- Proven track record of creating and executing successful marketing campaigns
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team, while fostering a cross-functional working culture of respect and innovative collaboration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Deep understanding of marketing analytics and the ability to use data to drive marketing decisions
- Knowledge of digital marketing strategies and technologies (e.g., CDP, AI-enabled personalization, Web3, AR/VR)
- Passion for luxury retail and deep appreciation for luxury and fashion culture, with the ability to translate insights into highly shareable, modern marketing moments
- Demonstrated success in influencer/creator marketing and social commerce
- Strong grasp of generational and cultural consumer shifts, with the ability to translate insights into resonant campaigns
- Please note this is a 12- 13-month maternity leave contract, requiring on-site attendance at our head office (60 Bloor W, Toronto) a minimum of 3 days per week. Our target start date is December 2025.
