Your area of focus.
As a member of the Cybersecurity and Compliance team, the Cybersecurity Junior Analyst plays a critical role in protecting our organization by monitoring systems, triaging alerts, and investigating potential threats. This position helps maintain a strong security posture and ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of AutoCanada’s systems and data.
The role requires close collaboration with End User Computing, Infrastructure, Networking, Business Application Support, and key technology suppliers to minimize overall cyber risk. Assignments may require independent work with minimal supervision. The Junior Analyst will report directly to the Security Operations Manager.

Main Responsibilities
- Monitor, triage, and respond to security-related tickets and requests through both internal and SOC ticketing systems.
- Administer and maintain core security tools including EDR, email security, IAM, and vulnerability management platforms.
- Actively monitor alerts from SIEM, EDR, and email security solutions, performing initial analysis, documentation, triage, and escalation as required.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve cybersecurity issues in line with incident management procedures.
- Assist the Security Operations Manager in developing, reviewing, and updating security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support root cause analysis of critical security events and recommend process improvements.
- Contribute to third-party cybersecurity risk assessments during vendor onboarding.
- Assist in planning and running enterprise-wide security awareness and phishing simulation campaigns.
- Act as a technical contributor to cybersecurity-related projects and initiatives.
- Standard office environment, Monday to Friday work week.
- Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
- Occasional travel may be required to support business or IT projects.
- Minimum 3 years of overall work experience, including 1–3 years in cybersecurity system administration, incident response, or compliance (preferred).
- Hands-on familiarity with security tools (EDR, SIEM, firewalls).
- Strong working knowledge of Windows, Azure, Active Directory, M365, and Okta (highly desirable).
- Understanding of IT operations, networking, and system administration.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Commitment to continuous learning and adaptability to evolving threats and technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, GIAC, or equivalent are considered assets.
