To participate actively, in collaboration with the National Retail Leasing Team and General Managers, in the implementation of a National Specialty Leasing strategic vision.
What you will deliver:
- Assist the Director, Specialty Leasing in executing the National Specialty Leasing business strategy.
- With strong marketplace knowledge, make informed recommendations to the Director, Specialty Leasing and General Managers on which retail trends could be a fit for each property.
- Proactively prospect potential tenants by identifying and contacting vendors, brands, event agencies, existing tenants, and licensees and introducing opportunities to lease temporary retail space.
- Communicate the strategic vision to potential tenants/clients by assisting them in their merchandising, visual image, inventory, product assortment, etc. as required.
- Prepare and monitor the annual National Specialty Leasing revenue and expense budgets.
- Record revenues as per the forecasted annual budget and prepare a monthly report for the Director, Specialty Leasing
- Administer all National Specialty Leasing account promotions, including National Promotions, Regional Promotions and Temporary Kiosks as required throughout the year
- Lease quality and unique retail concepts while ensuring first class standards are met.
- Negotiate new Specialty Leasing deals and renewals through discussions regarding needs and Shopping Centre performance in order to maximize revenue without compromising the merchandise mix, and to forecast future revenue.
- Coordinate and monitor all National Specialty Leasing activities in CF’s national portfolio of properties.
- Provide regular feedback to the Director, National Specialty Leasing, General Manager and various key stakeholders.
- Research and prospect the market for opportunities; gather all pertinent information to enhance the value and quality of the National Specialty Leasing Program.
- Identify opportunities for new concepts and development and review market demands to get the most viable and dynamic tenants.
- Develop client relationships / contacts by visiting any companies that can fit in with the current strategy.
- With the assistance of the Director, National Specialty Leasing develop marketing business plans and materials (packages) to set the financial goals and reinforce the positioning statements of the properties.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize shared revenue opportunities including but not limited to: Marketing, Finance, Legal and Operations.
- Coordination with property teams and key stakeholders on logistical execution of event and promotional activations
- Strong organizational skills

- Previous specialty leasing exposure in a retail environment, an asset
- Good understanding of property management, an asset
- Strong communication skills. In Quebéc, fully bilingual in French & English (written and verbal)
- Computer literacy and full proficiency with Word and Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite
- Post secondary education in a related discipline such as Business or Commerce.
- Minimum 1 – 3 years’ related experience; Real Estate/ Property Management/ Retail Shopping Centre industry
- Fully computer literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite.
- Bilingual an asset, not required
