Market Development Representative
We’re on the lookout for a Market Development Representative III who can be our go-to tech guru in the commercial team. You’ll team up with folks in R&D, Marketing, Sales, and more to roll out awesome go-to-market strategies. You’ll also connect with key influencers and customers to get them excited about our tech and products. Together with Sales, you’ll work towards achieving our regional and territory sales goals. Your technical know-how will help showcase the value of our full range of products and solutions to our partners and customers.
This is a permanent, work-from-home position based in Leamington, Ontario, with travel around the area and some of Quebec.
What You’ll Do:
- Take charge of trialing and activities for phase 4B and 5X varieties in your local area, including market extensions.
- Collaborate with local sales and R&D to create and implement territory plans for trialing and generating demand.
- Work with sales and marketing to keep our market share strong by using strategic trialing and data to position our products effectively.
- Support the early R&D pipeline to share knowledge on key varieties with Market Development.
- Combine all testing and experience data to clearly communicate product positioning to both our internal team and customers.
- Use digital data collection methods to keep everyone in the loop in real-time.
- Tap into your internal and external networks to spot market opportunities and trends, plus gather more technical info.
- Provide technical support to the commercial team, helping with complaints, reviewing marketing materials, and pricing.
- Train sales and marketing on how to position all our base and new varieties, as well as market extension varieties.
- Help shape cross-functional decisions that lead to business success.
- Navigate the complexities of our unit’s business by leaning on the experience and knowledge of your peers across different teams.
- Influence portfolio decisions and pipeline advancements by collaborating with AMPAC crop leads.
- Lead specific crop segments within your unit and mentor others in Market Development.
- Offer practical agronomic tips to boost product performance in different production environments.
Who You Are:
- You have a Bachelor of Science and at least 5 years of experience in agronomy, sales, field development, or a related R&D role. A Master’s (3 years) or PhD (1 year) in Plant Sciences or Agribusiness (like agronomy, plant pathology, or weed sciences) is a big plus.
- You know how to turn data into practical solutions for growers.
- You have a strong customer focus and a knack for sales.
- Your written and verbal communication skills are top-notch. (French is an asset)
- You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- You’re self-motivated, assertive, and results-driven.
- You’re ready to travel a lot within the territory and occasionally nationally.
- You have a valid driver’s license and can pass a driving record background check.
