Millar Western Forest Products Ltd. is seeking a full-time Human Resources Administrator to join our Whitecourt Pulp Division. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role supports the full range of HR functions. Key responsibilities include recruitment and onboarding, coordinating training and development, supporting employee engagement and communications, and assisting with company events.
The role also involves payroll and benefits administration, maintaining employee records, and supporting the disability management program. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to employees and the overall success of the mill.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will hold a post-secondary credential in Human Resources or a related field, with a Human Resources Management certificate or degree considered an asset. Preference will be given to those working toward a CPHR designation or related certification. A minimum of two years’ experience in human resources, with exposure to recruitment and payroll, is required. Equivalencies of education and experience may also be considered.
Candidates should have solid knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and experience with SharePoint will be considered an asset. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to contribute to company goals while advancing their HR career.
