What you’ll be doing
Do you enjoy supporting others in managing stress, improving their well-being, and practicing self-care? Join Toastmasters for Seniors: Strategies for Stress and Self-Care as a Mental Health & Stress Management Workshop Volunteer, and help older adults explore healthy coping strategies, mindfulness techniques, and emotional wellness tools in a warm, supportive environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in group facilitation, mental health promotion, and wellness education while making a meaningful impact on the lives of senior learners.
What You’ll Do:
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome volunteers who are enthusiastic, dependable, and eager to learn! Ideal candidates will meet the following:
Age between 12 - 30
Passionate about volunteering and open to learning new skills
Commitment to completing basic training
Fluent in English
Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (if over 18)
Bonus Skills
Experience volunteering or working with older adults
Fluency or strong proficiency in a language other than English

What You’ll Do:
- Assist facilitators during mental health and stress management workshops
- Help set up and support interactive activities such as guided reflections, and small group discussions
- Encourage participation, emotional expression, and active engagement in self-care practices
- Provide supportive feedback and help maintain a calm, respectful atmosphere during sessions
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and stigma-free environment for seniors to share and learn
- Practical experience in group facilitation, mental wellness education, and workshop support
- Stronger skills in empathy, active listening, and emotional support
- Insight into promoting mental health and self-care in older adult communities
- The fulfillment of helping others build resilience, reduce stress, and prioritize their well-being
