Faculty/Department Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance Unit Media, Art, and Performance-Other Employee Group URFA CUPE 5791 Job Family Category Sessional Number of Vacancies 1 Position Summary Turning to cultural and artistic practices as tools for analyzing current technological developments and their influence on art, politics, and culture, students will analyze theoretical works focusing on understanding technology as culture, the intersections between technology and social life, and the contributions digital technologies make to creative industries Position Requirements The successful candidate must have completed a MA, MFA, or a PhD with a focus on Creative Technologies, Interdisciplinary Studies, or equivalent as relevant to the course.

  • Evidence of experience teaching critical theories related to technology, art, and culture;
  • Evidence of awareness of key issues of critical theory relevant to the intersections of technology and culture from multiple disciplinary perspectives, including feminist and anti-colonial perspectives.;
  • Experience managing classroom and online technologies used by UofR and experience teaching at the university level is necessary.
