Collaborating with the Supervisor, Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP), and in accordance with the Society's policies and procedures, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the effective operation and inventory management of the HELP programs in the Nova Scotia Region.

Collaborating with the Supervisor, Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP), and in accordance with the Society's policies and procedures, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the effective operation and inventory management of the HELP programs in the Nova Scotia Region.
In this role, you will :
- Dismantle, clean and disinfect wheelchairs according to established standards.
- Perform cleaning / general maintenance of specialized health equipment (specialized mattresses, wheelchair accessories, walkers, cushion, backs, etc..).
- Maintain an accurate inventory count of health equipment in accordance with program procedures and policies.
- Maintain up to date product knowledge of inventory products and responds to internal and external inquiries for information on products.
- Organizes and inventories all HELP stock; Monitor and report on inventory levels
- Shipping and receiving of health equipment; ensure that all orders are properly filled and shipped according to procedures and guidelines.
- Previous experience working with health equipment is an asset but not required.
- Previous cleaning experience is an asset (i.e. facilities, equipment cleaning, etc..)
- Ability to learn / become familiar with a wide variety of health care equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude / demonstratable experience with hand tools is an asset (i.e. bike repair, automotive repair, wood working, equipment assembly / disassembly, etc..)
- Demonstrated computer skills are required. (i.e. Microsoft Office / D365, SharePoint, etc..) A working knowledge of inventory control systems is an asset
- Strong communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Able to do heavy lifting (50lbs to 100lbs)
- Previous WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety training is considered an asset.
- A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract is required.
- The majority of time the incumbent is performing work which requires manual dexterity. In addition, the work often requires attention to detail.
