The impact you will have:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer with 2–3 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Azure Data Services and Microsoft Fabric, and a strong foundation in building scalable data pipelines and solutions. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining data infrastructure that supports analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.
What you will do:
- Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and other Azure data tools.
- Develop and optimize data models and storage solutions using Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL DB, Azure Dedicated SQL Pool, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Collaborate with data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Implement data governance, security, RLS, and compliance best practices across Azure environments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Support ETL/ELT processes and contribute to the automation of data integration tasks.
- Document data architecture, workflows, and processes for internal knowledge sharing.
- 2–3 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Dedicated SQL Pool.
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric for distributed data processing and orchestration.
- Strong SQL skills, including designing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and views for data ingestion, performance and scalability.
- Experience using Python or Scala for advanced data manipulation and automation.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Azure DevOps, Microsoft Fabric Deployment Pipelines).
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- Experience with DAX and PowerQuery for data modeling, transformations, and creating optimized datasets for reporting in Power BI.
- Knowledge of the Lumber industry would be a great asset.
- Knowledge of Data Governance frameworks and tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview).
- Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Certification is an asset.
