Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Post secondary education in Business Administration. A combination of education and experience in a related field may be considered.
  • Experience in administration with the ability to manage complex projects with specific targets.
  • High level of political acumen for navigating sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with, or thorough knowledge of, Indigenous organizations and issues affecting Indigenous peoples.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and the 231 Calls to Justice.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft, format, and prepare a variety of department reports for review and distribution.
  • Verbal communication with the ability to communicate with internal and external partners.
  • Effective problem solving skills and decision-making skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Desired:
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in French.
  • Indigenous language skills are an asset.

Duties:
The Grants Administrator will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day administration of the Mino’Ayawaag Ikwewag fund, including intake, eligibility review, agreements, tracking, and compliance monitoring. The position will provide clear guidance and support to applicants and recipients on timelines, reporting requirements, and documentation standards, while monitoring both financial and narrative reporting to ensure accountability and transparency.
