Reporting to the Director of Information Technology Services, the District Manager of IT Services plays a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the District's technology strategy. This leadership position oversees the day-to-day operations of the IT Services Department and contributes to long - term planning and innovation across all schools and facilities. Other responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic integration of technology in education, aligning infrastructure with the district's vision.
- Manage and optimize the daily operations of the IT Services Department.
- Engages staff to foster team collaboration, accountability, and ownership of work.
- Encourages staff involvement in project planning and problem-solving.
- Provides clear expectations and guidance while respecting the terms of the collective agreement.
- Build positive relationships with unionized staff by promoting trust, fairness, and transparency.
- Oversee the design, budgeting, and implementation of technology upgrade projects.
- Research emerging technology trends and assess their applicability within the District.
- Coordinate technological changes across schools and administrative facilities.
- Ensure responsive and effective end-user support for staff and students.
- Promote best practices in cybersecurity, data governance, and digital equity.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with recognized certifications in technical areas such as network engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT departmental leadership.
- Proven expertise in network development, administration, and data center management.
- Familiarity with telephone and security systems infrastructure.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement practices.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting Salary: $104,745 based on qualifications and experience.
- Full-time Continuing, Exempt.
- Reports to Director of Information Technology Services.
