The Opportunity:
You are more than a content creator – you are a digital storyteller and social media strategist who knows how to spark connection, build community, and elevate brand. As a key member of CGMH’s Communications team, reporting to the Director of Communications and Community Engagement, you collaborate closely with colleagues to bring CGMH’s story to life across digital platforms.
You bring fresh ideas to the table, capture authentic moments, and craft high-quality content for social media, video, photography, and other digital channels to engage our team, patients, partners, and broader community. You understand both the art and science of content: blending creative vision with data-driven insight to produce digital storytelling that inspires, informs, and drives action.
At the heart of this role is CGMH’s once-in-a-generation hospital development project. You will lead digital and social media efforts that not only communicate progress, but actively invite the community to participate in planning our new hospital – making their input visible, meaningful, and influential in shaping the future of care in South Georgian Bay. You will be successful if you thrive on creativity, collaboration, and impact – turning milestones into stories, progress into pride, and a bold vision into content that empowers our community to help build the hospital of tomorrow
Qualifications:
- Must have a post-secondary education in Multimedia, Digital Technology, Video Production, Digital Media, Journalism, Communications, or a related field – or equivalent combinations of skills and experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
- Experience capturing, editing, and producing high-quality video and photography
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) or similar software
- Comfort with social media platforms and content management
- Understanding of accessibility standards for digital content (AODA/WCAG compliance)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with ability to adapt to shifting priorities
- Effective collaboration and communication skills across all levels of the organization
Preferred:
- Formal training in photography and/or film is an asset
Duties and Responsibilities:
Hospital Development Digital Communications
- Collaborate with the Hospital Development and Communications teams to design and deliver a digital engagement strategy that keeps staff, patients, and the community informed and actively involved in planning our new hospital.
- Develop regular, accessible digital touchpoints to showcase milestones (e.g., functional program progress, design planning, community input opportunities).
- Create compelling video, photography, and graphics that make complex hospital development processes easy to understand and engaging.
- Manage online community engagement to build excitement, answer questions, and ensure the community can meaningfully participate in planning and shaping our hospital’s future.
- Identify and leverage the most effective digital platforms and tools to celebrate progress, share updates, and invite ongoing community participation.
Content Creation
- Capture and produce high-quality video and photography for internal and external audiences.
- Develop creative content for social media, digital signage, and websites.
- Manage multimedia projects from concept to final delivery, including storyboarding, filming, editing, captioning, and accessibility formatting.
Digital and Community Engagement
- Plan and maintain a social media content calendar aligned with strategic communications priorities and hospital development planning milestones.
- Post and manage platform-specific content to highlight CGMH initiatives, milestones, and the hospital development project.
- Monitor and respond to online engagement professionally, providing accurate information and encouraging community participation.
- Use analytic tools to measure reach and engagement, adapting strategies to optimize impact.
Other Related Duties
- Build and maintain a library of multimedia assets.
- Assist with urgent or special communications projects as needed.
- Stay current with digital trends and recommend tools or approaches to enhance CGMH’s digital presence.
- Provide photography and videography support for events on-site and in the community (some may occur outside or regular hours).

Hours of Work: Days, Monday to Friday. Please be reminded that as a Hospital, in order to provide the necessary patient care, our operations run 24/7. Therefore, depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work weekdays and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
Wage: $40.72 to $53.19 per hour
