Location: RHF Office in Richmond, BC, hybrid and/or remote

JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Rick Hansen Foundation School Program (RHFSP) manages the day-to-day operations and delivery of the RHFSP program. This position is responsible for policy and strategy recommendations, as well as developing and implementing programming and operational policies and procedures.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Awareness, the Manager, RHFSP is a key part of the Rick Hansen Foundation (RHF) management team and works closely with other RHF units including Marketing & Communications (MarComm), Finance, Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (RHFAC), Resource Development (RD), and Evaluation.
The Manager, RHFSP works closely with the RHFSP team to support growth and deepen program impact through strategic engagement activities, and relevant RHFSP offerings. This position may also supervise contractors, interns and consultants.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Reviews, identifies and provides recommendations to the Sr. Director, Awareness on the improvement and/or enhancement of the RHFSP unit;
- Recruits, trains, coaches, manages and terminates staff;
- Contributes to and makes recommendations to strategic and operational plans and reviews;
- Prepares and completes action plans including: implementing production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolving issues and problems; and conducting program reviews;
- Contributes to the preparation of the annual budget, forecasts and expenditure schedules. Reviews financial management reports and initiates corrective actions;
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the RHFSP team including:
- ensuring relevant, accessible and user-friendly RHFSP resources (e.g., lessons, activities, videos), managing the online resource library and distribution of materials;
- responsible for the development and implementation of a national and global outreach strategy and implementation;
- responsible for the delivery of compelling and growing Ambassador presentations;
- responsible for the ongoing delivery of post-secondary education scholarships for youth with disabilities
- growing and delivering professional development (Educator Inclusion and Accessibility E-Learning and PD workshops);
- determining potential events/partners/relationships to grow the program;
- leading initiatives that develop youth as accessibility leaders both nationally and internationally, including the Youth Leadership Committee and Difference Maker of the Year Awards; and
- leading new projects and RHFSP offerings as they arise;
- Evaluates data, tracks KPIs and takes corrective action to meet program and funder targets;
- Oversees and acts upon market research (surveys, research interviews, focus groups etc.) and trends to improve existing and develop new RHFSP offerings;
- Analyzes process workflows, recommends and implements changes in anticipation of continued program growth nationally and internationally;
- Manages external committees in conjunction with the Sr. Director, Awareness and RHFSP team;
- Works with MarComm team to identify program priorities, goals and messaging for marketing and communications activity;
- Contributes to the development of stakeholder reports including funding proposals and stewardship reports, in conjunction with RD and MarComm teams;
- Collaborates with other units in the development of cross-functional programing and operations policies; and
- Performs other related duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS
An equivalent combination of education, experience and skills/behaviours will be considered.
Education/Knowledge: University degree in Education, Business/Marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification/Designations: None.
Experience/Knowledge:
- Minimum 7 years of related experience;
- Minimum 5 years of project planning and/or program management experience;
- Experience recruiting and managing staff, volunteers, and committees;
- Reporting and budget management experience;
- Strong planning background and knowledge of the education or youth sector at all levels;
- Computer experience including MS Office. Working knowledge and experience with Salesforce preferred;
- Knowledge of and experience with budget creation and management;
- Not-for-profit experience is an asset; and
- Understanding and sensitivity of issues relating to people with disabilities an asset.
