Why is this role important?

As a Senior Analyst, Operations, you will be supporting the Online Grocery Delivery team with day to day operational tasks, KPI tracking and analysis, report and process management, vendor management, front line financial reconciliation, and additional tasks as required as we expand our last-mile logistics operations. You will also play a large role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the core delivery business. You will be supported by the Product, Tech and Store Operations teams for technical engineering, product, to deliver on new processes and Delivery operational excellence.  As a successful candidate, you will take ownership of your operation and strive to continuously evolve and improve as the online grocery industry expands and has a more significant impact on how Canadians live life well.

Senior Analyst, Operations

  • Work model: 4 days in the office per week
  • Base office: 500 Lakeshore Blvd West, Toronto

What you’ll do:

  • Work in tandem with the Delivery Operations team to define and execute tests to drive continuous improvement in delivery operations metrics (eg. On Time Delivery, Driver Wait Time, Delivery Cost Per Order, exception scenarios ie. Missed Bags, Mixed up Deliveries); design and test time studies, cold chain studies
  • Extract actionable insights from both quantitative and qualitative internal/external customer feedback
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders as it relates to Online Grocery operations.
  • Maintain and refine SOPs (relating to hub operations, logistics, colleagues as applicable); maintain and iterate on existing SOPs as they relate to the end-to-end fulfillment process
  • Act as point of contact for P1 delivery operations escalations to help effectively triage and resolve.
  • Own feedback loop and provide support to Area Managers, Department Managers, District Managers and Retail Operations team
  • Coordinates daily 3PL and Fleet activity, ensuring successful execution.
  • Manage any exceptions that occur in the logistics network. Troubleshoot issues with network exception scenarios, get the right teams engaged in helping solve.  Own the communication between key stakeholders (Customer service, Shipping site, 3PL XD, Stores, drivers, management)
  • Work closely with our 3PL partners to ensure daily operations are in good order.
  • Validate all vendor POs activity, including escalation inquiry, PO creation, AP uploading, Accrual creation and invoice tracking
  • Reports analytics and insights and have ownership in identifying areas of opportunities.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations as it relates to continuous improvement
  • Provides analytical support for projects, new business opportunities and proposals
  • Extract actionable insights from various data sources to help guide operational execution
  • Understand the needs of key stakeholders and support team efforts by providing supplementary data
  • Review KPIs daily to ensure the business targeted budget objectives are met

Does this sound like you?

  • Post-secondary education in Business or Finance. (MBA Preferred)
  • 2-4 years experience in Accounting, Business or Finance.
  • Must be analytical and systems-oriented
  • Strong Organizational and Time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication Skills.
  • Self-starter, Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
  • Must be driven to improve processes and take the initiative to highlight opportunities.
  • Must be detailed oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must have strong Advance skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL
  • Must have excellent communication, technical and time management skills
  • Flexibility to be on call on occasional evenings and weekends
