What You’ll Bring to The Role

We’re seeking individuals who have:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and strong customer service skills
  • A genuine interest in the Security Industry
  • A valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • A valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License (in good standing)
  • CPR and Standard First Aid Certification
  • Ability to pass a background check (must be bondable)
  • Flexibility to work continental 12-hour rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Other Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or a graduate of Post-Secondary Law Enforcement/Criminology program or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience in law enforcement and/or security operations including knowledge of the Criminal Code and Trespass to Property Act is an asset.
  • General knowledge of emergency and evacuation procedures is also an asset.
  • Experience utilizing technology including various computer programs, cell phone applications, digital report writing, patrol touring applications, etc.

What can I expect to do in this role?

  • Conduct proactive patrols of the Campus, inspect buildings, and monitoring various security systems.
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls; assesses situations; liaises with emergency services and able to take statements to secure information provided by a witness.
  • Execute the operational plans based on specific events or campus wide activities including working with third party security providers, Toronto Police, and other internal divisions.
  • Maintain daily records of all activities and incidents on the grounds.
  • Inform relevant authorities to locations in event of emergencies by activating emergency response procedures and is required to assist with evacuation procedures as required.
  • Perform parking enforcement duties and may be required to attend court.
  • Perform road closure and traffic control duties as required.
  • Enforce bylaws, Acts, Codes, and policies as they relate to Exhibition Place.
  • Interact with the public, staff, guests, visitors and clients.
  • Perform first aid and CPR as required.
  • Undertake special projects, assignments and other duties as required.
