About the Role:
You are responsible for leading a team that supports ATCO’s regulated utilities (ATCO Electric, ATCO Gas and/or ATCO Pipelines).
As the Accounting Manager you will lead and mentor accountants, ensuring accuracy in deliverables, presenting financial impacts and reconciliations to the department’s leadership teams, supporting regulatory proceedings, preparing annual business plans and analyzing financial information to support decision-making. Your communication and collaboration skills will be required as relationships will be built with all levels of the organization.

Your communication and collaboration skills will be required as relationships will be built with all levels of the organization.
What You’ll Do:
- Day-to-day management and leadership: Provide direction, guidance and development to a team of professional accountants; manage the workload and work assignments of the team; build and manage relationships with key individuals throughout the business
- Prepare annual filings and business plans including financial impacts and reconciliations
- Support regulatory applications, submissions and work collaboratively to draft information request responses to the Alberta Utilities Commission
- Cultivate an environment of continuous improvement including identifying and implementing changes in people, process and technology which increase efficiencies and maximize value add analysis
- Maintain a customer centric view when interacting with various groups across the business.
- Undergraduate degree from a recognized educational institution
- Professional designation – preferably Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
- Minimum 8-10 years of technical experience with experience in a leadership role
- Proficiency in Oracle E-Business Suite of products including General Ledger (and related reporting capabilities) and Oracle FCCS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, etc)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated professionalism and work ethics
- Proven ability to contribute and work well within a team environment
