Why is this role important?

CBC’s Digital Strategy & Products team is seeking a Functional & Data Governance Analyst to contribute to the implementation of a Consent Management Platform (CMP) across our products and contribute to the development and maintenance of our data governance policies, standards, and procedures. This individual will be expected to liaise between the business teams, technical leads, and UX leads, while participating in product and governance development, including E2E testing and project coordination support. Responsibilities Include

  • Acts as in-house expert on the Consent Management Platform (CMP) for all relevant stakeholders across business, product, and implementation teams.
  • Assume the data steward role.
  • Supports the evolution of our data governance standards and consent rules development.
  • Identifying and documenting business and user requirements.
  • Analyzing existing processes and recommending tailored solutions to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Documenting analyses and potential solution pathways.
  • Evaluating the risks, feasibility and impact of proposed features on our solutions.
  • Clearly communicating business, operational and functional requirements to development teams.
  • Supporting end-to-end testing to guarantee product reliability and accuracy.
  • Supports CMP reporting and assists with delivering insights and consent metrics to various departmental stakeholders.
  • Assists with vendor management to ensure CMP vendor’s list is up-to-date.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of our Audience Data Guide including comprehensive documentation for data governance policies, standards, and procedures, including creating user guides, process flows, and rules documents.
  • Supports our user retention strategy initiative
  • Staying informed about emerging industry trends and sharing relevant updates with the team.
  • Develop relationships and influence change across data users and internal partners by providing guidance and support with a focus on continuous improvement and service excellence.
  • Providing ongoing CMP maintenance support throughout deployment phases including transition support from project to product mode.

Qualifications/skills

  • Three or more years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in the media industry is an asset
  • Post-secondary credentials in a relevant field (business analysis, marketing, management, development, etc.).
  • Expertise in the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
  • Experience with data governance and data quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment with competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of Consent Management and Privacy by Design principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to influence, persuade and initiate any required changes.
  • Action- and outcome-focused client approach.
  • Ability to be proactive and suggest solutions to challenges that arise.
  • Ability to work autonomously and show initiative as well as working cooperatively with teams.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and market intelligence.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Bilingual (EN/FR) - Working knowledge of spoken and written French is an asset.

Please note this is a 18-month contract position.
