We are looking for a Director, Corporate Security.
The Director will effectively manage the Canadian Corporate Security function for the purpose of protecting the assets and interests of the Company, its shareholders, policyholders and customers from any negative effects of security incidents, threats, workplace violence and any other security related risks and fraud.
What You Will Do
The base salary for this position is between $92,100 - $170,500 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). What You Will Do
- Develop and manage a program to ensure a coordinated, consistent approach to the response and resolution of physical security risks
- Systematically gather, assess and report information related to security related threats and events
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to address physical security risks and response
- Maintain a close working relationship with Crisis Management and the Risk and Compliance function
- Manage the Canadian Emergency Response program and provide leadership to the Site Emergency Response Teams under the “Emergency Response” (ER) program pillar outlined within the Lifeco Business Continuity Management (BCM) Policy
- Conduct investigations of serious security incidents impacting one or more organizational assets individually or as part of a broader multi-disciplinary investigative team
- Provide oversight of executive protection, travel risk management and special event security activities.
- Provide high quality investigative results and superior reporting
- Provide overall leadership to the Corporate Security staff
- Act as a senior subject matter expert with respect to physical security risk for the corporation
- Participate on security risk initiatives, committees, working groups across the organization globally
- Promote security awareness across the organization
- Develop and maintain physical security training programs for staff
- Deliver security presentations to management and staff
- Collect intelligence data on security risks globally
- Detect internal and external threats
- Provide information periodically to senior management on new and emerging threats in the physical security landscape
- Develop processes to effectively report on physical security risk exposures and impacts on the aggregate physical security risk profile quarterly to the Operational Risk Committee
- Post-Secondary education in Protection, Security and Investigations.
- Certification and Continuous Learning with advanced certifications such as Criminology, ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP)
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align security initiatives with business goals.
- Ten years leadership and team management skills, especially in multi-site environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and various business areas.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Discretion and integrity, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Proven Strategic leadership experience
- Enterprise wide risk management experience in physical security risk management.
- Multi-site experience with familiarity in geopolitical risk.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
