FortisBC is seeking a dynamic Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Manager, Contractor Safety to champion safety and compliance across our contractor teams. In this pivotal role, you’ll develop and oversee our Contractor Safety Management Program (CSMP), ensuring every external worker operates in a safe, high-performing environment.

In this role, you will:
- Manage the CSMP, ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and Technical Safety BC, and define FortisBC’s prime contractor responsibilities.
- Collaborate on RFPs, oversee onboarding and training, and track safety performance using dashboards.
- Deliver on-site safety support through orientations, job observations, and safety briefings. Maintain a strong field presence to drive proactive engagement and accountability.
- Direct investigations into contractor-related incidents and ensure timely corrective actions. Oversee safety event reporting and data analysis, providing strategic insights to senior leadership.
- Act as the main safety contact for contractors, regulators, and internal teams; contributes to safety summits and meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.
- 4–7 years of experience in contractor or construction safety management.
- CRSP designation (or ability to obtain) and formal training in safety investigations.
- Valid BC Driver’s License.
- Strong knowledge of contractor safety legislation and prime contractor responsibilities.
- Experience with contractor qualification systems and safety performance analytics.
- Skilled in incident investigation, field coaching, and safety program development.
