About The Role

The eCommerce merchandising Manager will be working on the Canadian Direct/eCommerce team, with focus on delivering a best-in-class online product and shopping experience on dysoncanada.ca. They will be responsible for both supporting the strategy and owning the execution that drives maximum revenue and conversion. Responsibilities include launching new product and promotional campaigns, optimizing digital marketing and segmentation, forming analysis insight and recommendations to deliver financial targets.

The role will also be responsible for leading and developing a Site Merchandising team of 6 direct reports, to deliver an enhanced eCommerce experience. As well as working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, finance, supply and tech teams.

Main Accountabilities And Supporting Activities

Business Ownership

  • Drive online merchandising strategy for dysoncanada.ca that delivers strong conversion and hits financial targets
  • Leverage web analytics and ecommerce equation to understand customer interaction with site content, product range and general online shopping experiences to identify opportunities and risks
  • Work closely with supply chain and logistics on exceeding fulfilment expectations
  • Collaborate with eCommerce Acquisition Manager & cross functional marketing teams to understand holistic campaign support, to achieve desired business results.
  • Support growth of Direct awareness strategy and improve positioning of ‘Why Buy Direct’ proposition.
  • Responsible for monthly eCommerce forecasting process in partnership with Sales and eCommerce acquisition manager; proactively share eComm insights to influence strategic business decisions, identify risks & opportunities, and troubleshoot solutions to ensure delivery of eCommerce sales targets.
  • Oversee site merchandising team; provide coaching and development to ensure optimal delivery of category KPIs through new product launches, promotions and web journey optimizations.


ECommerce Trading & Optimizations

  • Contribute to weekly Direct trading meeting: share eCommerce performance tracking, risks & opportunities, with insights on root issues to be optimized.
  • Collaborate with Site Operations and eCommerce merchandising leaders on A/B testing roadmap and in month optimization plans.


Digital Creative Support

  • Work closely with creative and marketing teams to ensure optimal and consistent digital creative for online and media
  • Develop and oversee cross-category plans and assets, including Homepage, Deals page and other cross-category pages.


Site Maintenance

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of all BAU creative and campaigns assets, with particular focus on direct proposition.
  • Work with the Site Operations team to resolve all issues and errors and communicate to the business as needed
  • Work closely with SEO and accessibility leads on audits and optimization plans

About you

A dynamic and enthusiastic representative, who –

  • 5+ years of eCommerce experience with a major, transactional eCommerce Web site
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience working with eCommerce / digital platforms, with a data-driven mentality.
  • Strong analytics capability and business acumen – able to communicate eCommerce performance metrics into business performance insights across a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience working with a major Web analytics and reporting tool such as Adobe Analytics, Test&Target, and Google Analytics 360 is desired
  • Ability to understand the Dyson brand and uphold its integrity
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills
  • Problem solver with a proven track record of getting things done.
  • Must have excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate both internal and external resource in a cross-functional and international organization
  • Experience of people management, capable of coaching and developing a fast-paced high performing team.
