What You Will Do
As a Field Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our equipment to ensure seamless operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out minor repairs on Jenbacher Gas Engines, and conducting unplanned/planned services safely and methodically.
- Accomplishing significant services or coordinating tasks with external suppliers.
- Maintaining tools and test equipment accurately, ensuring they are calibrated correctly.
- Performing basic troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and other systems to diagnose issues and determine appropriate resolutions.
- Execute required procedures for preventative maintenance.
- Analyzing faults in mechanics, electrical, and associated software systems.
- Ensuring job plans and training manuals are current and relevant.
- Working safely and collaboratively as part of a team or independently.
- Processing timesheets, expense reports, Environmental, Health and Safety forms, and job reports promptly.
- Aligning with all safety and company policies to uphold a productive work site.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support team success.
To succeed as a Field Service Technician at Enbridge, you need to meet the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of directly relevant training experience.
- Journeyperson tradesperson with provincial or interprovincial certification in mechanical or electrical or certified technical designation.
- Familiarity with or qualification to work with Jenbacher reciprocating gas engines Series 6 is considered is preferred.
- Proficient in the operation and maintenance of power generation, preferably with Jenbacher experience.
- Skilled at using equipment necessary for the operation and maintenance of control systems.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiastic about teamwork, sharing tasks, building relationships, and supporting team and company objectives.
- Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of PLC and Familiarity with the MMS system Maximo is considered an asset.
- Work Alternative Work Schedule 9/80 44 hours M to Thurs 9 hrs/day, F1: Off, F2: 8 hours.
- Mix of field (~80%) and office (~20%) environments.
- Work in hazardous or restricted locations.
- Working on and around high voltage equipment, transformers, disconnects, switchgear, motor control centers, electrical service buildings, etc.
- On-call responsibilities for assigned areas and stations.
- Working on equipment situated at heights.
- This position requires climbing, bending, lifting, standing, and crouching on a repetitive basis.
