ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGIST Ill (BAND LEVEL 7)

DUTIES
Under the direction of the Manager, Classroom Technologies, the Electronic Technologist III will be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of high-quality audio-visual solutions in learning spaces, seminar rooms, and video production facilities across campus. Duties include adhering to safety and quality standards; designing and programming Extron and AMX control systems; maintaining records; providing on-site technical support for complex video productions and events; ordering supplies and parts; creating and maintaining technical documentation and reference materials; evaluating and integrating new technologies; conducting needs assessments to determine end-user technical requirements; and performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience (5-7 years) at a high-skill level in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of professional multimedia, video production equipment and A/V technologies within a university or related environment; completion of a three-year diploma program in electronics technology is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Experience and knowledge in AMX and Extron control system integration, digital projectors, video conferencing, audio DSP configuration, video production, recording and streaming, as well as deploying and maintaining AV-over-IP technologies, would be considered assets. Prior experience and certification in control system design and programming is preferred. The physical demands and work environment of this position require:

- The ability to lift, carry, and move objects of up to 50 pounds
- Wearing personal protective equipment, including but not limited to hard hat, steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, safety glasses, goggles, and a full body harness.
- The ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs and scaffolding, while carrying tools requiring a reasonable degree of physical stamina and agility; and involving mild to moderate physical exertion.
- The ability to work at heights (on scaffolding or ladders).
- The ability to walk, stand, lift, push, pull, reach at or above your shoulder level, bend over, crawl, climb, and kneel for long periods of time.
- Operating motor vehicles.
- The ability to work as part of a team, communicate and interact with others in a professional manner, and consider alternative and diverse perspectives.
