Hardware Designer to join our team. If you’re driven by innovation, excited by cutting-edge technology, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!
What you’ll do:
- Work on the sub-module design of the electrical systems of our robots and contribute to systems engineering.
- Design and conduct experiments to test prototypes and validate designs while identifying areas for improvement. You'll debug and test on both a board and system level.
- Collaborate with our mechanical team on Wiring Harness Design to minimize EMI and ensure proper mounting, shielding, and accessibility of electronic circuits.
- Participate in PCB and layout design of analog, digital, and power circuits, including control boards, sensor interfaces, power distribution, safety, and motor control units.
- Support and enhance existing robotic products by investigating issues, implementing design improvements, and optimizing performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Create clear engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation, and ensure accuracy and adherence to standards. You'll be familiar with managing Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) and Change Management Methodology.
- Bachelor's or College Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of hardware design experience in a relevant field (Robotics, Safety Critical, Medical, Aerospace, Automotive, etc.).
- Experience with the hardware development cycle.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and schematic capture and PCB layout software (Altium preferred).
- Familiar with Dfx (Design for Excellence) Analysis.
- History of product design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
- Proficient with standard test instrumentation equipment such as DMM, Scope, Power Supply, and Function Generator.
- A driven individual who is passionate about robotics and is a self-starter.
- Successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that may include criminal/civil background checks
- Experience working with robots or complex electromechanical systems.
- Experience designing hardware for safety-critical applications (such as aerospace, medical, or automotive).
- Experience with electronics design simulation.
- Experience with Standards or certification experience (UL, CSA, CE, etc).
- Familiar with Jira & Confluence.
- Familiarity with PLM tools (like Arena PLM).
