As a Time Operations Advisor, you’ll play a critical role in capturing their time —accurately, consistently, and compliantly—keeps our people paid correctly and our business moving safely. As a Time Operations Advisor, you will be the trusted expert for complex time on/off rules, helping leaders and HR teams apply standards, resolve exceptions, and strengthen governance across both frontline and staff populations. You’ll combine HR knowledge, systems fluency, and judgment to simplify processes, reduce risk, and improve the employee experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).

Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field with analytical background (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience advising on complex time & attendance rules in large, multi‑site environments
- Demonstrated knowledge of collective agreements, policies, and statutory requirements tied to time, premiums, overtime, and leaves
- Systems proficiency with enterprise HR platforms (e.g., Workday) and case management tools (e.g., ServiceNow); strong Excel skills for analysis and reporting
- Strong organization, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to present insights and coach to standard practices
- Experience conducting audits, interpreting metrics, and driving corrective actions that improve payroll accuracy and compliance
- Provide second‑level advisory support to business leaders and HR partners on complex time‑on/off issues and exceptions
- Steward governance and standardization of time processes; escalate unresolved variations and potential non‑compliance appropriately
- Conduct routine and ad hoc audits; build reports and dashboards to track accuracy, exceptions, and trends; recommend data‑driven improvements
- Investigate anomalies end‑to‑end and partner with stakeholders to resolve root causes and verify corrections in time for accurate pay
- Support LR/ER matters related to time (e.g., grievances, arbitrations) with clear analysis and documentation
- Act as a business analyst on time‑impacting changes and projects: gather requirements, validate designs, execute UAT, and support cutovers
- Maintain concise knowledge articles, job aids, and training; deliver targeted education for leaders and HR teams as needed
- You will work out of Calgary, Alberta or out of our Fort McMurray Downtown Office
- Hours of work are a regular 40‑hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended hours during payroll close, cutovers, or critical issue resolution
- This position may require occasional travel to sites for stakeholder engagement and training
