THE ROLE

The Project Director – Identity Management (IAM) will lead the project of enterprise wide IAM initiatives through out the 3 project gates, including strategy, architecture, implementation, and governance. This role is responsible for defining and driving the organization’s core identity management systems and initiatives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. The Project Director will oversee IAM operations and projects, provide strategic advice to senior management, and ensure solutions align with security best practices, regulatory requirements, and the IS Division’s objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading large-scale IAM projects, including concept definition, requirements analysis, design, and implementation.

Establishing the vision for IAM systems and driving adoption of modern identity solutions (SSO, MFA, access provisioning, lifecycle management).

Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (GDPR, ISO, ITSG) and internal security policies.

Managing project scope, schedule, and budget, and collaborating closely with project managers and cross-functional teams.

Overseeing vendor management, contract negotiation, and integration of IAM platforms (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, Ping Identity) with enterprise systems.

Providing strategic guidance on identity governance, access management, and risk mitigation.

Reviewing budget proposals and recommending changes as needed.

Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field AND several years of experience in information management and information technology or a related field

Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CIAM, or equivalent are preferred.

Experience

Leading the delivery of IAM initiatives and solutions.

Managing IAM platforms (Azure AD, Okta, Ping Identity, etc.), SSO, MFA, and access provisioning.

Planning, evaluating, and advancing IAM, network, and security projects.

Developing requirements for core IAM systems and managing the product development lifecycle.

Managing stakeholders and third-party providers in IAM environments.

Delivering distributed IAM systems and integrating with enterprise applications.

Negotiating and managing contracts for IAM services.

Preparing technical and business documentation related to IAM.

Managing project lifecycle, scope, and change in multi-technology environments.

Developing and executing Request for Proposal (RFP) processes for IAM solutions.

Personnel and budget administration.

Other Information

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.

The selection process will be done virtually.

This position is a two-year term.
