About This Position

We are looking for an Accountant to join our Finance Department.

Responsibilities And Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of journal entries and associated schedules
  • Validation of financial data related to group entities and mutual funds and seg funds
  • Reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts in Blackline
  • Assist with daily mutual fund and seg fund oversight requirements
  • Assist with monthly close process and ensure processes are strictly followed
  • Create and maintain financial data models
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and board packages
  • Assist with periodic variance analysis for dealer, fund manager and segregated funds
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts for dealer, fund manager and segregated funds
  • Prepare and upload necessary files for monthly management fees
  • Update daily NAV tracker for the monthly management fees calculation
  • Recommend and assist management with the implementation of process improvements, new processes and/or department policies.
  • Assist with providing backups for external and regulatory audits
  • Assist team to perform monthly tasks
  • Preparation of various surveys
  • Participate in digital transformation projects
  • Perform various ad-hoc financial analysis and tasks as requested

Qualifications

  • Accounting or business diploma required
  • Accounting experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow well established procedures and processes
  • Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines and priorities
  • Strong initiative and ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects with strong follow through skills
  • Highly flexible to work in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision
  • Highly detail-oriented and willingness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficient in MS office programs
