Early Childhood Educator Coordinator - Term Position

Mission Statement:

Seven Oaks Adult Learning Centre is a certified Adult Learning Centre that provides a range of options to help people improve their education levels.

Under the direction of the Director, the ECE for the Adult Learning Centre Infant Toddler Lab provides a safe and nurturing environment and supports students who are caregivers attending the Adult Learning Centre. ECE workers will work cooperatively with the school division Adult Learning Centre team and community stakeholders to support program goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment

• Monitor and assess children’s development and progress

• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers

• Connect and visit families who have been absent for the week

• Maintain a clean and organized classroom

• Maintain a portfolio documenting children’s growth

• Collaborate with other educators and staff members

Qualifications and Skills:

• Early Childhood Education Qualification – ECE I or ECE II

• Previous experience working with young children

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to create a nurturing and stimulating environment

• CPR and First Aid certification

• A valid Driver’s license and a vehicle is an asset

This is a 10-month (Sept to June) (35 hours per week) term position. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and

experience and will include a benefits package.

Hours of work will primarily be 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday and will include occasional evenings and

weekends.
