Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

This is programming and supervisory work in designing, developing, coordinating and scheduling of fine and performing arts programs at Bonsor Recreation Complex. In addition, the work involves implementing, supervising and evaluating the programs; hiring, training and supervising subordinates; establishing and maintaining liaison with schools, community groups, agencies and the general public; publicizing and promoting services and programs; assisting in the direction of a City wide service area as required; preparing preliminary budgets and controlling expenditures; preparing and maintaining schedules, records, reports, correspondence and a variety of routine administrative duties; providing information and assistance to a variety of contacts regarding programs. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include completion of a two year community college program in Fine Arts or related discipline; plus sound related supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Sound knowledge of the needs, interests and resources of the community served. Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of organized Fine Arts Programming with particular emphasis on Dance, Music and Visual Arts. Ability to design, develop, coordinate, schedule, and under limited direction; supervise, implement and evaluate the provision of programs to meet community needs and interests. Ability to oversee the work of subordinate staff; to establish and maintain working relationships and to deal effectively with staff; prepare and control the program budget and a variety of reports and other material related to the work. A valid Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia is also required. Please note that a Police Information Check may be required for this position.
