Salary Range Salary band 14 (Minimum – $111,289, Control Point – $148,385, Maximum – $170,643) Placement within a salary band is typically up to the Control Point based on a review of skills, experience and internal equity. The College may place over Control Point in limited circumstances
The Opportunity Under the direction of the Dean, Applied Community Studies (ACS), the Associate Dean provides day-to-day leadership for the credit and non-credit programs in the Faculty of Applied Community Studies. The Associate Dean coordinates with faculty, staff and administration on planning, program development and review, budgeting, and evaluation of faculty. This position oversees scheduling and work assignments, is responsible for ensuring quality standards, handles complaints, grievances and appeals and performs other duties as required across the College

WHAT IT TAKES
  • A graduate degree in a field relevant to Applied Community Studies from an accredited post-secondary institution (PhD preferred);
  • A minimum of five years recent teaching experience in a post-secondary institution and/or three years of administrative experience, in a post-secondary institution or other organizations relevant to the Faculty of Applied Community Studies;
  • Ability to meet the qualified to teach determination in at least one department or program within the College;
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship building capabilities including the ability to foster team work and facilitate collaborative working relationships; mediation skills; and the ability to build consensus among diverse community partners.

  • This regular full-time position is available January 5, 2026
  • Regular hours of work are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
  • Travel between Douglas College’s locations as required
  • Travel for business may be required on occasion
