Position Information

Temporary position until approximately March 29, 2026.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

  • Current Certificate of Competence, College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Minimum 3 years in Neuroscience;
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in an Ambulatory Care Clinic;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and patient interviewing skills;
  • A desire and ability to participate in staff and Patient/family teaching;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of crisis intervention techniques;
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation;
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast paced environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing ;
  • Ability to develop, co-ordinate and deliver in-services, presentations;
  • Ability to make effective referrals, reflecting in depth knowledge of community resources and strong collaborative skills in working with other TOH departments;
  • Proven ability to assess, plan, prioritize, organize, implement, evaluate and problem-solve;
  • Proven ability to exercise mature, effective judgement and behavior in emergency situation and to work as part of an interdisciplinary team;
  • Proven ability to be organized and thorough in information gathering and documentation practices and proficiency in the use of personal computers;
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.


Preferred Qualifications

  • BSCN;
  • Recent Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate;
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention course;
  • Proficiency in English and French oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
