We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a fast-growing organization within the clean energy sector. As an Electrical Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Owner’s Team and external contractors to ensure technical precision and alignment with project objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include managing technical aspects of the project, guiding engineering contractors, supervising design development, monitoring progress, reviewing technical documentation, and coordinating with third-party suppliers.

  • This role will be initially a hybrid role with eventual transition to a more on site position in the London, ON area.

The Role-

  • Lead all technical aspects of the project, including design, engineering, procurement support, supplier quality, commissioning, and start-up planning.
  • Review and validate technical documentation, specifications, drawings, and calculations submitted by the Engineering Contractor to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, industry best practices, and project requirements.
  • Support the procurement process for electrical equipment packages—such as HV substations, transformers, switchgears, and emergency generators—by contributing to bidding activities and supplier selection.
  • Lead the technical evaluation of supplier proposals to ensure the selection of cost-effective, technically sound solutions.
  • Provide technical support during equipment installation and commissioning phases.
  • Resolve discrepancies or deviations from project specifications promptly to maintain alignment with project objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to the project schedule and budget for assigned equipment packages, managing any changes through established management of change (MOC) procedures and tools.
  • Identify potential risks related to cost, schedule, quality, or safety, and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure these plans are reviewed by relevant stakeholders and actions are tracked to completion.
  • Conduct visits to supplier facilities during fabrication to monitor progress and ensure quality standards are met.

The Ideal Candidate-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, ideally within large-scale industrial projects
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Canadian electrical codes, standards, and regulations
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required
