Position Information
Title Business Analyst Job Status Regular Full Time Position Overview

The Corporate Services Department – Information Technology Division is looking for a regular full-time Business Analyst.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Platforms, you will perform complex analytical work conducted in response to a wide range of user requirements, which encompasses all phases of business applications configuration, procedure documentation and operation related to the Division’s business applications systems. You will play an integral role on a core system replacement transformation involving business permitting and licensing. You will manage, liaise, gather and document business application, systems and user requirements, provide advice and recommendations, collaborate with internal and external design teams and develop technical solutions to meet business requirements. You will define backlog stories, document solutions, update technical manuals, provide training documentation and support the business units.
Requirements
You will possess a Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Business Administration in computer-related disciplines and a combination of formal Agile Development or Scrum Master Certification, and two or more years of related experience with technical writing supporting requirement gathering documentation, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Your technical experience will include system requirement gathering, system/business workflow design methodology, system procurement, agile methodology, and project management fundamentals. In addition, your excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines, and proven interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships (particularly facilitating multidisciplinary teams and 3rd party vendors) will ensure success in this position. Knowledge of Municipal applications and expertise in tools such as JIRA, Confluence & LucidChart would be an asset.
Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.
Compensation
$46.07 – $54.44 hour
(Pay Grade 26 – January 2024 rates)
Hours of Work
Any 7 consecutive hours between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, and may also be scheduled for a regular shift on Saturday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., exclusive of meal breaks. The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
