Your Opportunity:

The Addiction Recovery Center (ARC) is a voluntary medical detoxification program that supports a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing withdrawal from alcohol and other substances. Looking for experienced, caring, strength-based nursing staff to join our multidisciplinary team. This position working to full scope, will be responsible for completing the medical assessments on those presenting to our door seeking services, triaging the admissions, administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs and withdrawal symptoms, and adjusting the treatment as clinically indicated. You will be actively involved with the day-to-day medical/physical/educational needs of our clients providing client-centered, trauma informed, concurrent capable approach to ensure emotional and psychological support is provided. This position requires flexibility and responsiveness to an acute environment. Strong clinical skills, organizational skills, and communication skills (both verbal and written) with a diverse range of clients, their families, professionals and the public are a must. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care, while reflecting shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Psychiatric Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
