The Retention Administrator will provide general reception and retention administrative support to both external and internal clients within an Employment Services Career Centre and its programs.

This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver’s license and a reliable insured vehicle. The successful candidate would have to provide proof that they have a valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance upon being hired.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide pleasant and professional office and phone support to job seekers in retention.
  • Maintain current records on job seekers in retention meeting monthly retention targets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into databases.
  • Provide financial supports to job seekers in retention.
  • Establish and maintain retention files.
  • Assist in maintaining various client databases.
Client Service
  • Follow up with program participants over the course of their first year of work.
  • Respond to the job seeker in retention inquiries over the phone.
  • Provide clients with assistance in accessing resources to support job search.
Reception Duties
  • Provide professional office administrative support to Employment Services personnel as required or requested.
  • Maintain the organization of the front office area and general office procedures.
  • Respond to Client enquiries in-person or over the phone, providing requested information or directing the enquiry as appropriate.

As an ideal candidate you recognize the importance of employment in a person’s life. You have a passion for helping and supporting individuals to overcome barriers to employment and to obtain meaningful work.Your passion is backed up by:

  • Proficient computer skills using Word, Excel, Outlook and database software packages.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and computer)
  • Well-organized individual, with strong problem-solving skills and self-initiative.
  • Team player but must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be customer-oriented, self-motivated with a positive attitude.

Education / Work Experience:

  • Post-secondary graduate in an Office Administration program or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an office or small service centre environment/setting.
  • Knowledge and/or experience serving clients with employment barriers, including disability.
