Intermediate Accountant - U.S. Finance (Based in Burnaby, BC, Canada)

We are looking for a motivated Intermediate Accountant (Full-time, Permanent) to join our growing finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement are valued.

Cotecna Canada, based in Vancouver, plays a key role in supporting trade, ensuring the safety and efficiency of global supply chains. We specialize in on-site supervision, sampling, and quality control for shipments moving through the Port of Vancouver.

What you’ll do

• Manage daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Assist with financial statements, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with auditors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support tax filings, statutory reporting, and audit documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold company accounting standards and procedures.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS principles.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Navision, SAP, or similar).
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
