We’re proud to help create stunning, sustainable spaces across North America.

About The Role

As a Product Designer, you’ll play a pivotal role in Longboard’s Revolutionary Product Development strategy; one of our three core pillars alongside Radical Client Care and Relentless Executional Improvement.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop innovative new products, enhance existing lines, and bring ideas from concept to launch. This hands-on role combines creativity, technical design, and practical testing to deliver architectural products that inspire and perform.

About You

You’re a creative and detail-oriented designer who thrives at the intersection of innovation and practicality. You have a passion for developing exceptional products that improve both function and aesthetics. You enjoy working in collaborative environments, thinking beyond the obvious, and staying up-to-date with design and construction trends.

You’re curious, adaptable, and motivated by the challenge of transforming ideas into real-world architectural solutions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related field).
  • 2+ years of experience in product design and development using 3D/2D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Strong visualization and rendering skills (KeyShot or similar).
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • A creative, analytical, and hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for innovation.
  • Experience with PDM systems, prototyping, or architectural metals is an asset.
  • Knowledge of building and envelope design principles, construction standards, and material selection.

What You Will Do

  • Engage in the full product development cycle, from concept sketches to CAD modeling, testing, and launch.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand design challenges and market needs.
  • Create 2D/3D CAD models of components and assemblies within architectural environments.
  • Develop prototypes through additive manufacturing and vendor fabrication; test for functionality and performance.
  • Support third-party product testing (wind load, seismic, thermal, acoustics) and analyze structural/thermal simulations.
  • Produce technical documentation, drawings, and installation guidelines.
  • Create high-quality 3D renderings for marketing, training, and client presentations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, optimizing product manufacturability and user experience.
  • Partner with Account Managers and Product Managers to gather feedback and identify opportunities for enhancement.

What We Provide

  • A competitive salary starting from $80,000 to $100,000 per year, plus additional profit-sharing bonuses.
  • A comprehensive benefits package.
  • 4% RRSP match.
  • Professional Development Opportunities.
  • The opportunity to work at a Great Place to Work Certified (2025–2026) company, recognized as one of Canada’s Best Workplaces in Manufacturing (2025), BC’s Top Employers (2025), and Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers (2024).
