SECRETARY-TREASURER/CFO

The Secretary-Treasurer reports to the Superintendent/CEO, serves as the Board of Education’s Chief Financial Officer and is a key member of the district’s Executive Team. Guided by Kamloops-Thompson School District’s Vision, Mission and Values and the current Strategic Plan , the Secretary-Treasurer’s responsibilities include: finance and payroll; legal; facilities; capital planning; transportation; risk management; and business operations. With a current operating budget of $250 million, 49 schools and almost 3000 employees, the Secretary-Treasurer provides sound strategic and financial planning, while ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to the and corresponding .

You have the required education and experience noted below:

➢Significant track record of successful experience in a senior financial role in the public sector; preferred experience within in the education sector

➢Demonstrated and sustained success in leading and supervising staff in a unionized environment

➢Chartered Professional Accounting designation in good standing; a related degree may be considered if augmented by recent and relevant experience

➢Highly effective experience working with an elected Board including supporting good governance practices


The salary range for this position is $207,169-$230,188 plus an excellent comprehensive benefits package.
