Job Summary
The GIS Technician is responsible for performing basic GIS tasks on any/all LSI projects. This includes receiving data and project work assigned by the GIS Manager or GIS Analyst, creating and managing File Geodatabases, and creating basic parcel, pipeline, powerline, and other infrastructure maps. Duties also include digitizing, georeferencing, PDF editing, Excel Line List management.

Job Summary
The GIS Technician is responsible for performing basic GIS tasks on any/all LSI projects. Responsibilities
- Perform complex data analysis using ArcGIS and related extensions/add-ons, relational databases, and other computer software.
- Utilize File Geodatabases & Relational Database Systems.
- Conduct data analysis and preparation of documents, data reports, and maps.
- Ensure that accurate and complete metadata are recorded for all data sets and that metadata is distributed with data when requested by clients.
- Perform all GIS work in timely and quality manner meeting project schedules and deadlines.
- Work in a team setting with other workers to identify effective ways to complete various planning projects.
- Learn new skills related to information technology, planning, or other agency priorities, as required.
- Take reasonable care and action to protect your safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your actions or omissions
- Ensure proper use of safety equipment, clothing, and devices
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents and near misses
- Comply with LandSolutions policies and procedures, applicable laws, and the Occupational Health & Safety policy.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Completion of an accredited GIS degree or diploma, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Esri software including ArcGIS Pro.
- Familiarity with automations including Python & Model Builder are good to know but not necessary.
- Willingness to learn, absorb information, and grow a GIS career from this position.
