Ready for a career glow-up? As a Merchant, DotCA, you’ll be driving online sales and shaping brand strategies for Sephora’s prestigious collection. The work you do will impact the future of beauty in Canada, as you develop and execute innovative strategies to achieve financial and strategic goals for your brands. You’ll manage a dynamic category team that’s united in beauty, supported by others who share your passion for delivering an exceptional online experience and building strong relationships with vendors, all while keeping consistency with the US strategy.


What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute the overall e-commerce strategy for growth with new product introductions and strategic expansion of current brands
  • Develop and manage the assortment for the online channel
  • Plan promotions, launches, and animations in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Develop and execute the online strategy to drive sales through paid marketing and owned marketing channels, including email, mobile tactics, and site
  • Work closely with brands to review the business and strategies to maximize online sales, including additional dotcom-only products and incremental marketing opportunities
  • Interpret and communicate management direction to team members within the business unit to ensure each initiative is developed within the desired timeline
  • Leverage data insights, take full ownership of KPIs, and utilize analytics tools to drive performance
  • Continuously audit and optimize the on-site experience, ensuring high-quality on-site content, product detail pages, assets, and merchandising to maximize conversion
  • Conduct regular competitive and market analysis to identify emerging trends, pricing opportunities, and consumer expectations
  • Establish a strong partnership with the Category Merchant(s) and the US Team, ensuring Canada's perspective and needs are voiced
  • Work closely in partnership with the planning team to ensure brand objectives are appropriately aligned to inventory investment
  • Foster a work environment that embodies Sephora values and be a strong leader to your direct report(s)


What You’ll Bring:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree or college diploma in retail management (or a related field) - an MBA would be a bonus
  • You're an experienced buyer/merchandiser/planner with at least 3 years' in e-commerce, merchandising, category management, or digital retail
  • Solid understanding of merchandising principles, promotions, and pricing strategies
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple launches or campaigns simultaneously
  • You are a creative thinker who is willing to take calculated risks with an ability to seek out new opportunities to grow the business
  • You love product (beauty is your jam!), understand consumer trends and behaviour, and inspire fearlessness in everything that you do
  • You're curious, a go-getter and take ownership and responsibility for your work
  • You love tackling problems and using your analytical skills to find solutions
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit, thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and enjoy working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • You've mastered the art of communication and negotiation
  • You're technically savvy and know your way around Excel
  • You understand the Canadian marketplace and vendor organization, along with knowledge of the Canadian cosmetic industry and Health Canada regulations for product compliance
  • Up to 10% travel required
