In this role, you will be performing complex accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure they comply with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements. You will also reconcile complex accounts and check the accuracy of journal entries to ensure that the general ledger is accurate and complete. This role provides exposure to consolidations of multiple entities ensuring proper processes and GAAP compliance, accounting with foreign currencies, and other complex accounting areas.

You will also be responsible for checking and analyzing financial information and preparing complex financial reports and accounting statements including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements, cashflow, impact from fluctuations in foreign exchange rates, repayment schedules, regulatory reports and filings, enabling senior management to make informed financial decisions.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Period-End Close:
    • Key contributor in the month-end and year-end close process for all StarTech.com entities.
    • Ensuring all key balance sheet accounts are reconciled, journal entries are accurately posted, and all liabilities are recorded in a timely manner.
    • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of the impact of foreign exchange across the organization and the consolidation process.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Preparing and analyzing month-end financial reporting according to the deadlines set by the organization, including balance sheets, income statements, cashflows, inventory reporting, customer & regional profitability statements, and variance reporting for budget owners across the organization. 
    • Compiling information, analyzing, and providing commentary for the Executive monthly financial review meetings.
  • Support for organization:
    • Providing accounting support, financial analysis and guidance to the organization, including transaction history reports, variance analysis, reconciliations, and other detailed analysis as required.
    • Contributing to projects throughout the organization including understanding and identifying the financial impact of a project and required changes on key business processes.
    • Providing technical accounting advice within area of expertise to operational area managers.
  • Coach and Mentor:
    • Share your expertise with junior team members and help them grow.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A degree in Accounting and Finance.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, and strong computer proficiency.
  • Exceptional attention to details.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for learning and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA designation or equivalent preferred.
